UCSB Extension strives to publish accurate information in the printed catalog, on the Web, and in all other media; however, all information (including fees, dates, locations, instructors, etc.) may be subject to change or correction in the event of an error.
Instructor Change
The individuals who teach for UCSB Extension have been chosen based on the
following criteria: professional experience, academic preparation, and teaching
ability. The majority of instructors are working professionals who teach on
a part-time basis, although full-time UC faculty and other college and university
faculty also teach. Some instructors may not be fully approved by the appropriate
academic department at the time of the catalog's publication. In this case,
the words "approval pending" appear next to the instructor's name.
Occasionally, and usually for reasons beyond UCSB Extension's control, last-minute
instructor changes occur. When there is sufficient lead time, UCSB Extension notifies
pre-enrolled students of the change in advance of the first class session. When
this is not the case, the course is held as scheduled. Refunds are not issued
solely because the publicized instructor is replaced.
Course Schedule and Location Change
On occasion, and usually due to conditions over which UCSB Extension has no control,
changes in class schedules and locations occur. In most cases, pre-enrolled
students are notified of changes. Persons who wait to enroll at the door of
the first class session are urged to call (805) 893-4200 to verify the status
of the course and receive word of any changes before leaving home, especially
if driving a considerable distance.
