Professional Preparation Program for Accounting Summer 2010

The Professional Preparation Program for Accounting is designed to help
you meet the new California requirements for CPA Licensure—you can
fulfill 24 quarter units (or 16 semester units) toward CPA (Certified
Public Accountant) Licensure in only 10 weeks.

Professional Preparation Program for Accounting
Courses are offered in an intense, high-quality sequence, designed to provide
the detailed knowledge and skills desirable in a professional accountant.
Courses cover professionally-based material that expands upon the academic
accounting curriculum offered by the UCSB Economics Department. Courses
provide information that broadens student understanding and knowledge of
modern business methods and environments. Taken together, the four courses
in the sequence also cover topics included in the CPA examination.
Program Qualifications
This program is for individuals seeking career enhancement through licensure as a CPA who have completed
substantial coursework in accounting. Final admission decisions will be at the discretion of the CPA Executive Committee.

- Advanced Auditing and Attestation
- The Regulatory Framework
of Business
- Current Issues in Financial Reporting

Dates and Times
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 1-4:45pm;
Friday, 9am-12:45pm, June 21 – August 27, 2010
Plus 4 selected Wednesdays, June 23 & 30, (make-up day for July 4), July 7 & 21.

Fees
Total Cost is $3,600 of which:
- $200 non refundable application fee is due by May 21, 2010
- $3,400 program fee is due by May 21, 2010
- Enrollments received after 4pm on May 21 are subject to a
$200 late fee Application and program fees will be accepted until
June 21, 2010 on a space available basis. Group, employee, and alumni
discounts may not be applied toward this program.
- Program open for enrollment March 1, 2010. Applications
not accepted until March 1, 2010.

Units
24 quarter units (16 semester units). Units earned in this program
are not transferable to satisfy the requirements of the UCSB Business
Economics Major or the Accounting Emphasis.

Refund Policy
A full refund is given, less the $200 application fee, if notice of withdrawal
from the program is received in writing by noon on June 7, 2010.
Late fees are not refundable. No refunds will be given after that time.
Exceptions to these policies are considered only under the most unusual

Eligibility
Potential CPA candidates who have completed substantial coursework in accounting. Final admission decisions will be at the discretion of the CPA Executive Committee.

Applications are due on April 30, 2010 in the office of UCSB Extension, Mail Code 1110, University of
